Drinking Water Regulatory Specialist (Remote-US)

Ecolab is seeking a Drinking Water (Public Water System) Compliance/Regulatory Specialist to support our growing water business. In this role, you will help ensure compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations across assigned Public Water Systems (PWS). You will serve as a key regulatory resource, collaborating with internal teams, government agencies, laboratories, and customers to help maintain safe, compliant drinking water systems while supporting Nalco Water's commitment to public health and environmental stewardship. What’s in it For You: The opportunity to take on some of the world’s most meaningful challenges, helping customers achieve clean water, safe food, and healthy environments The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth and innovation The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives and ideas to achieve our best Exposure to a diverse range of drinking water systems and regulatory programs across multiple jurisdictions Opportunities to collaborate with technical experts and regulatory professionals while advancing your expertise in drinking water compliance What You Will Do: Manage assigned Public Water System (PWS) permits and regulatory requirements under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Assist with preparation and submission of permit applications, including coordination of construction and operating permits Support compliance monitoring activities, regulatory reporting, and submissions to federal and state agencies Track and maintain compliance records to ensure timely reporting and permit obligations are met Serve as a liaison with federal and state regulatory agencies regarding inspections, sanitary surveys, audits, compliance reviews, enforcement actions, and corrective actions Coordinate laboratory services and sampling logistics to support field operations and regulatory requirements Review water quality data and compliance documentation for accuracy and completeness Provide drinking water compliance guidance and training to the sales and field teams Support Nalco Water participation in regulatory reviews and agency interactions Monitor regulatory developments and assist in implementing changes required by evolving drinking water regulations Position Details (Location & Work Schedule): Remote position located within the United States Up to 30% travel required Ecolab reimburses mileage at the current federal reimbursement rate Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Ability to travel up to 30% as required Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record, where required Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline; or Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences Drinking Water Operator License Professional experience supporting municipal drinking water systems Knowledge of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Experience with waterborne pathogens, including Legionella bacteria Experience applying drinking water regulations, including: Total Coliform Rule (TCR) Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rules (DBPR) PFAS drinking water requirements Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) requirements Experience coordinating sampling programs, laboratory testing, and compliance reporting Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Annual or Hourly Compensation Range The pay range for this position is $85,900.00 - $128,900.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
