Resume Refiner is a privacy-focused Chrome extension designed to optimize resumes by analyzing job descriptions from web pages. It extracts keywords, suggests ATS-compatible content, and formats resumes for professional appeal—all while prioritizing your data security.

We do not collect, store, or process personal data on our servers. All resume refinement occurs either locally on your device or via a secure backend API (OpenAPI-defined) with minimal retention. This policy outlines our commitment to your privacy.

1. No Personal Data Collection

Resume Refiner does not collect, store, or process:

  • Names, email addresses, or other identifiers.
  • IP addresses, device information, or network data.
  • Resume content or uploaded files (processed temporarily via API only).

How data is handled:

  • Input data (resume text, job descriptions) is sent securely to our backend API for processing but is not stored permanently.
  • No data is retained locally on your device or in our systems after processing.

2. Backend API Processing

  • All optimization (e.g., keyword extraction, ATS suggestions) occurs via a secure OpenAPI-defined backend API.
  • Minimal retention: Session data (e.g., resume text, keywords) is deleted after processing to generate your optimized resume.
  • No third-party sharing: Data is never sold, shared, or used for analytics.

3. No Tracking or Cookies

  • We do not use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, or tracking mechanisms.
  • IP addresses are not logged during API requests or extension use.

4. Data Export & Clipboard

  • Download as TXT: Optimized resumes can be saved directly to your device as plain text files (no server storage).
  • Clipboard copy: Content can be copied to your clipboard for pasting into job applications (processed locally).

5. Security Measures

  • Encryption: All API transactions use HTTPS/SSL.
  • No local storage: The extension does not require storage permissions or save data to your device.
  • Compliance: Adheres to privacy best practices and applicable regulations.
